Calf Club Animal timetable - Saturday September 22nd 2018
Timetable for the day:
8.00 - 8.20am
Parking: The top car park is closed for parking on Calf Club day, you can drive up and drop off your animal. Please go and tie them up on the back field then please move your car on and go and park safely on the road or in the bottom car park. Please abide by the road rules and yellow line marking. Parking is available on the other side of the motorway albeit a wee walk back to school.
8.20am - 8.45am
Please get your child to go to the front doors of the hall and register and pick up their armband for the day. All students with a chicken, lamb, kid or calf must do this before 8.45am on the morning of Calf club.
Once registered please get your child to go back to their animal, make sure you have sufficient water/food for their pet on the day, there will teachers on the back field to direct you to the correct area. The children will then be placed into groups and directed when their judging begins. They are not to leave their animals until all judging is over and they are told they can leave. The animals must be kept secure and checked on throughout the morning.
Please note for the chickens, you must only bring one chicken along on the day in a suitable box or container. There will be cages available for you to put your chicken in if you choose to on the day in the “chicken” pen enclosure.
9.00am Lamb and Calf Judging commences
10:00am Goat and Chicken Judging commences
11.45am approx - all judging should be finished
12.00pm Trophy Presentation & Presentation of 3,5,7 & 8 year medals and Project
Prizes on the top field (if wet, prize giving will be held in the hall)
Chickens: Rearing, Trick/Pet Chicken and Diary
A reminder the Chicken Diaries are due into the office on Monday 17th September for judging, they will then be on display on Calf Club Day. If no diary is presented, then no points will be given for this section.
Lambs: Leading, Calling and Rearing -
Kids: Leading, Calling and Rearing
Calves: Beef type, Rearing and Leading.
